Administrators - Assistant Principal
Joel Gamache is a Métis individual who teaches Career and Technology Studies, certified through the University of Winnipeg Bachelor of Education program; a five-year joint program between the Red River College and the University of Winnipeg. Joel believes his personal, educational, extracurricular, and work experiences have given him the skills to be a successful teacher. He grew up on a mixed farm near Laurier, Manitoba where he developed many values and skills essential to his life. Having a good work ethic, giving respect, and being honest with your words were some lessons that he internalized. Joel believes that these values allow him to be successful in all aspects of life, especially in his career as a teacher.
Joel is excited to be returning for his second year at J.T Foster, and really looking forward to spending more time developing the Leadership, wildlife, Career and technology studies and integrating core mathematics’ and science classes into his hands on and practical teaching style.
When he is not spending time at school or in the shop homework club, two of his passions are playing guitar, sharing that with my students for a weekly guitar club and the outdoors/ outdoor education. I tend to spend my weekends in the backcountry split boarding, biking, hiking or mountaineering. Joel hopes to use his outdoor experiences and certifications towards fostering a passion for the outdoors in his students.
