Principal's Message

Welcome back!

I am delighted to address you all as the Principal of JT Foster School. As we embark on another academic year, I extend a warm welcome to both returning students and newcomers to our school.

At JT Foster, we believe that fostering better connections with each other and building student resilience are cornerstones for supporting students in their learning journey. Our dedicated staff are committed to fostering effective relationships with our students and community because we understand that relationships come before learning. Collaboration between our staff and community is vital in creating a supportive and enriching educational experience. Therefore, I encourage parents, guardians, and community members to actively engage with us, attend school events, reach out to your child’s teacher and share valuable insights to help us continually improve.

As a small, rural school in southern Alberta, we feel fortunate to have the opportunity to offer a variety of learning and athletic opportunities for our students, such as:

  • Industrial Arts/Shop
  • Art
  • Coding
  • Band
  • Foods
  • Work Experience
  • Hockey Academy
  • Leather Work

We are committed to serving the community of Nanton by helping to instill values such as respect, integrity, empathy, and fostering a sense of responsibility among our students. Through inclusive learning environments, we are dedicated to supporting today’s students to become the citizens of tomorrow.

I look forward to closely working with all of you, building strong partnerships, and making a positive impact on the lives of our students. Let’s make this school year one that is successful for our students and our community as we strive to support Every Student, Every Day.

Thank you for your unwavering support.

Sincerely,

Jason MacDonald
