Mrs. Brenda Southgate
Nanton is my hometown. This remarkable community is where I grew up and continue to live with my husband, Dustin, and our three boys; Morgan, Trey and Dallon. My elder 2 are attending post secondary degree programs within Alberta and our youngest will be the final family member to graduate from J.T. Foster this very year.
I began volunteering at J. T. Foster more than 25 years ago as a Dance Instructor with the Queen’s Ball program with which I continue to be actively involved. My employment with LRSD began 12 years ago as a full time School Bus Driver. I still drive the same route every day and enjoy almost every minute of it. I have enjoyed serving as an Educational Assistant at J. T. Foster since 2011. My career aspirations as a Rehabilitation Practitioner are definitely realized in this position. Guiding students through the academic challenges of Math, ELA and Social Studies as well as witnessing their success and growth from teens to adults is an extremely rewarding aspect of this position. I have had the opportunity to work and learn with incredible children, amazing staff, and a supportive community which is incredibly intertwined. I look forward to continuing the journey with each and every one!
