Congrats to Mr. Gamache!

Livingstone Range School Division is pleased to announce that Joel Gamache has been appointed the position of Assistant Principal at J.T. Foster High School.

Joel holds a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Winnipeg and is currently the Acting Assistant Principal at J.T. Foster School. He has worked as a teacher with LRSD since 2017 and was recently appointed Principal of Livingstone Range School Division’s FACES Summer Education Program.

Current J.T. Foster Acting Principal - and newly appointed Principal for the 2020-2021 school year - Roger Doucet, knows that Joel will continue to be a leader and strong presence at the school.

“Joel brings the ability to build new programs for our school,” says Roger. “In his time at J.T. Foster he has re-envisioned our student leadership program and has brought the Duke of Edinburgh award philosophy to our young leaders. He has built community connections with the broader community and has helped bring in an outdoor education/ wildlife program.”

As an educator, Joel believes in proactiveness, empowerment, and adaptability. He is enthusiastic about his role.

“I am ecstatic to have the opportunity to continue along the J. T. Foster path as the Assistant Principal,” says Joel. “I intend to remain dedicated to our students, staff, and community as we together forge a path to inspire excellence in leadership, academics, fine arts, and athletics. I will do everything I can to assist in developing critical thinkers, problem solvers, and ethically responsible citizens. I remain committed to this vision as I develop as a leader at J.T Foster School.”

In addition to his education credentials, Joel is a group leader, adventure facilitator, and first responder with the Alpine Club of Canada; an International Bow Hunter Education instructor; Alberta Hunter & Fishing Education instructor; canoe instructor; water safety instructor; lifeguard; and recent Duke of Edinburgh International Award Gold recipient. These skills will prove an advantage to the J.T. Foster students and families.

“As an administrator, Joel brings a passion for building programs that will benefit the school and community for many years to come,” says Roger.

Joel will begin his role as official Assistant Principal at J.T. Foster beginning in the 2020-2021 school year. Congratulations, Joel!
